Passaic, N.J. – Mayor Hector C. Lora’s administration, Councilman Terrence Love, Certified Angels, and other members of the community, attended the grand opening ribbon cutting ceremony of Mike Patel’s new 7-Eleven on 11-13 Central Avenue in Passaic, NJ, on Thursday, March 2, 2023 at 12:00p.m.
“On behalf of Mayor Lora, who could not be here today, he wanted to express his gratitude for investing in our city and providing such necessary goods and items for our citizens.” Said Business Administrator, Ricardo Fernandez. “The City of Passaic is honored to welcome the very first 7-Eleven in our city. We applaud its investment in our community, which also provides new jobs and revenue growth.”
“It is always our goal to create more business and attract individuals like Mike, his family, and other entrepreneurs to open right here in the City of Passaic. Passaic is on a rise that we have never seen before and I want to welcome those who have never been here and encourage you to keep coming back.” Announced Councilman Love. “The grand opening celebration will spend two days featuring a DJ, brand ambassador, games, prizes, refreshments, free samples, and a presentation of a 711 project and a game grant of $711 to a local youth organizations also known as Certified Angels.”
“Project A-Game is a community outreach program created to provide meaningful youth development opportunities through education and play so the children in the community establish a strong foundation to support their future success. Franchisees together with 7-Eleven incorporated contribute to the youth development of the communities by applying for grants to support local schools, youth organizations, law enforcement, and community organizations.” Said 7-Eleven Area Leader, Lazaro Rodriguez. “Grants have been used to underwrite initiatives including math, science projects, school supplies, sporting equipment and to ensure students have resources and inspirations for their future success. It is my pleasure that 7-11 and franchisee Mike Patel present a $711 check to Certified Angels to help them continue their endeavors to working with our youth in the area.”
“Certified Angels offers a safe haven to our community youth and we encourage them to be the best version of themselves. With this generous donation, we will be using it towards our Spring Showcase in a couple of months and we are so excited.” Said Certified Angels Assistant, Denise Salazar.

The downtown Passaic 7-Eleven will be Mike Patel’s fourth store. This new operation will have a dedicated professional and seasonal store manager as the everyday face of the new Passaic store as Mike oversees his 7-Eleven store operations. This location will be open 24 hours and includes over 3,000 products..
