Neighborhood Preservation Program

Neighborhood Preservation Program Area MapIn 2019 the City received a grant from the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs to promote rehabilitation and support businesses in the Central Business District covering Main Avenue from Monroe Street to Pennington Avenue.

Goals

 The Passaic Neighborhood Preservation Program Plan has four major goals:

  1. The promotion of  a dining corridor
  2. The creation of murals
  3. Improvements to retail storefronts
  4. An area wide planning effort to facilitate rehabilitation of structures

Downtown Outdoor Dining AreaOutdoor Dining

Outdoor dining  began in June 2020 on the Main Avenue Parking Island between Washington Place and Jefferson Street. Local restaurants are encouraged to advise patrons of this outdoor seating, convenient to scores of eateries along Main Avenue and Broadway.
